On a much brighter note, they also FINALLY entered the safe zone (12 weeks) with their little baby that is being carried by their gestational carrier. :) Giuliana & Bill were able to see their little Baby Rancic moving around on the ultrasound screen - so amazing to see how developed the baby is at just 12 weeks. They found out the sex of the baby, too - but they are waiting to tell others. At the end of the show, we got to watch them share their exciting baby news with their friends! Just like you all have been along for the ride with us - their family/friends have been going through their journey with them every step up the way. So they were happy to finally have some good news to share. Someday we will also have our own good news to share - it's just a question of when! We do appreciate your patience with us. :)
If we're going to get any good news on this cycle - we have a few hurdles to get past before we even get to the "safe zone" of 12 weeks. First, we have to get through this week without my period rearing it's ugly head. If we can make it to this Sunday (which is my dad's birthday) with no period, I'm going to take a home pregnancy test.
- If that is positive, then I believe that would make me 4 weeks pregnant (since you start with the first day of your last period). Yay! :) I will call Dr. Williams' nurses on Monday and they will schedule me for some beta tests (blood tests to check for pregnancy). If my counts are high enough in the initial beta test and the numbers continue to go up for the follow-up beta tests - then the next step is an ultrasound with Dr. Williams at 7 weeks. If things are still looking good at 7 weeks, they will transfer me back to my normal doctor for the rest of the pregnancy. And then after that, we'd still have 5 more weeks to make it to the 12 week mark (which would be around August 4th - my cousin and nephew's birthdays). Seriously... how amazing would that be if we got to follow this path!
- If it is negative, then that would again make me not-so-pregnant - which of course will be very disappointing. :( I will still call Dr. Williams' nurses on Monday to let them know. In this scenario, our plan is to move right into the next cycle of treatment that we discussed with Dr. Williams - which is the fertility shots with IUI (artificial insemination). When my period shows up they will need to see me on either Day 1, 2, or 3 of my cycle to do the baseline ultrasound. It is kinda nice in a weird way that we'll be jumping right into the next round of treatment - to help us move on from another failed cycle.
In closing, I'd like to ask for prayers for the Szall family as our friend's mom passed away on Friday.
